Wishful Thinking?

Tonight feels like a Fall night.  Did I mention that Fall is my favourite season.  Curling up with a blanket. Wearing capris and a sweatshirt and being comfortable. Wearing my fuzzy
slippers. Sipping hot tea outside.

Ahhhh Fall .... I am waiting for you!

Excited.

I'm excited. Why you ask? Because this weekend my grandparents from Halifax are coming down for the week!

Are they not adorable?

And I'm extra excited because this is what Alexis looked like the last time they saw her in person ...

That's right ... hairless ... big eyed ... adorable (if I do say so myself).

Alexis was 6 months old and wasn't even crawling yet. So imagine their surprise on Sunday when they see her looking like this ...

Can't wait to see their faces haha!

About Nothing At All ...

It's Pot-tay Time Here ...

Alexis isn't actually using the potty, it's used more as a stepping stool to look outside the window, but we have it out so that Alexis can explore it a little, and get use to seeing it and hopefully one day - sit on it and do her business!

But for now ..... its an accessory!

Are you a super organized person? Hate clutter that accumulates? This kitchen pantry is to DIE for!

Check out this super nice, clean and organized pantry at DecorChick here! You won't be disappointed!

Thinking Back ....

We are heading to go old Tillsonburg this after to get ready for Derek's sister (Tanya) wedding tomorrow! I'm excited and nervous for her as well of myself. For 1 - I should have practiced more in my heels that I just had to have, 2 - I HATE people starring at me, and when you're walking down the aisle what else do people have to look at, and 3 - It will be interesting to see how Alexis reacts to everything!

Watching Tanya go through the whole wedding process reminds me a lot of planning our wedding. It's so funny, that you spend a year of your life planning for this one day and in a matter of hours it's done and over with!

Soooo ..Hey ....

Have you checked out the new IKEA catalogue for 2011? All I can say is o.m.g.  I want to go there soooo much more now! I was browsing through the children's things and found/thought of many lovely things for Alexis for Christmas and stocking stuffers!

I heart IKEA.

Check it out for yourself here ... you won't be disappointed!

Road trip anyone?

Beautiful Summer Evening in Komoka

This Sunday was my mom's birthday so to celebrate we headed to my Aunt and Uncle's house in Komoka. I love it here ... you're only a couple minutes out of London, and its so quite. They have a huge backyard full of trees and beautiful gardens.  I snapped a couple pictures of Alexis here. She's such a ham!

And of course the day wouldn't be complete without a little random silliness from Alexis. Here she can be seen helping to clean up the sliding glass door.

I'm sure my Aunt and Uncle were impressed with all the little finger and tongue marks left all over their windows. Ah well ...

Oh Micheal

Here are some pictures taken from the Michael Buble (swooon) concert that my sister and myself attended this past Monday night. I love his music and he isn't too bad to look at either eh?

The show was amazing! Intimate, and of course Michael was hilarious! This was my third time seeing him, and if he comes again, I will most likely will go again!

Here are some pictures from the concert - although they aren't the best partly due to my camera's lack of zoom, the lighting, and it was quite foggy in there. But anyways, enjoy the pictures!

School Time

This is the face of a little girl who loves school ...

Don't let the scowl fool you. This is a typical morning face for Alexis. Then once you announce its "time to go to school" she bolts for the door.

This morning was no different, and a quick kiss for mom and away she goes with Daddy ...

Pay no attention to the soother ... its a comfort thing these days since she's been teething with molars.

And away she goes ...

5 Things that Make You Happy ...

I recently saw a blog post on one of my favourite blogs Young House Love about 5 things that make them happy that are easy upgrades that you can do or use around the house. You can read what they said here Young House Love .  I thought it would be interesting to do as well, and I urge my other fellow bloggers to do the same!

So here we go ...

5 Things That Make Me Happy ...

1. Pictures - I love pictures of my family, friends and things I love to be displayed throughout our house.  It reminds me of good times together, and what really matters in life.

2. Glass Jars - Love these ... love that you can see what's in them, and they are clean and crisp. One of my favourite purchases of all times.

3. A Nice Smelling Candle - I'm a sucker for candles with sweet/strong scents. My favourites are anything vanilla, lilac, or spicy apple. I can't resist! I recently bought some from Bath and Body Works, and while I love the sweet smell from them, I find they burn really fast! Anyways ... love candles!

4. Natural Objects - They are beautiful, enough said.

5. Green and Leafy - I love the house to be full of flowers, however I have a hard time keeping things alive. Scattered throughout the house I do have an assortment of fake foliage, and some real.  This arrangement I've been able to keep going for 16 months now! I think that's a record! I received it the day Alexis was born from Derek's brother and girlfriend.  I love it!

"Say hello to my little friend!" ...

Isn't he cute?? Picked up this awesome white ceramic owl statue at Homesense yesterday.  Yes, Homesense has their Fall items out already! I tend to go a little nuts around Fall because its one of my favourite seasons, and I love decorating for it, inside the house and out!  The great thing about this guy, is that he can be left up all season pretty much, and then around Fall or Halloween you can stick a tea light in him and he will set off a pretty glow.

I've noticed that lately a lot of stores are selling ceramic animal statues ... check these ones out from Z Gallerie ...

Crazy eh? Anyways these ones are faaaaaarrr more expensive ...

I also managed to pick up these cork votive holders on clearance for 60% off at Fabricland of all places!  I love the way they look during the day ...

and at night they let off an amazing pattern from the cork!

Anyways, that's some new things that I got this weekend. I forgot to mention in the previous Bayfield post how I'm still kicking myself! They had a rummage sale near where we parked our car and I saw 3 huge, old, blue vintage mason jars that I really wanted! Needless to say I didn't get them cause Derek was waiting ... and I'm still kicking myself ...
