Birthday Wishes.

We celebrated Alexis' 3rd birthday this weekend with family and friends. It was great to have everyone over to our house.  I have to tell you though ... I'm exhausted.  I know Alexis had fun though and she was completely spoiled by everyone.  I'm looking forward to a low-key, relaxing couple of days now ...

P.S. - Is anyone else loving this weather? 22 today .... in March! Crazy BUT I will take it! :)

"Hokey"

That's how Alexis says hockey, and for her birthday Derek and I took her to see the London Knights. Derek was fortunate enough to get tickets for us through his work so we were able to sit in the companies box (ummm winning! haha!). I figured this would be the best scenario for everyone since she would be contained, you can see everything from there, and if she got restless then she can wander around the box without us chasing behind her!

Needless to say ... she loved it, and we managed to be able to stay somewhere between the 3rd period when her mood turned sour.

And of course because she was turning the big 2 ... it was only fitting for her to sit in that seat!

We had fun this day, and I think Alexis did too!

Happy 2nd Birthday Alexis. [Part One]

Alexis' birthday was a huge success! She was incredibly spoiled by her friends and family. Here are some pictures that I managed to snap before the party, and my mom/sister also snapped a couple.  Thank you to everyone who helped out that day with food and preparations (Ash & Mom) and to her family and friends and all their generous gifts! She is surely set for clothes for the summer and toys to play with!

Birthday party pictures will be up tonight! Just saying ...

Few Shots.

I wasn't able to take a whole bunch and this is definitely NOT the final product. We still have to move furniture and I've made a bunch more pom pom's to hang, and my banner for the fireplace won't stay up ... the mantel isn't dressed and then not to mention upstairs is where the drinks will be ...... AND I have to make the cupcakes today and freeze them for Saturday ... yeesh ... I'm going to be busy today!

[Side Note: It is now 4:54pm and I had every intention of getting these up earlier ... oh well .. sorry for the poor poor lighting! eeeekkkk!]

Dreary Days and Little Pick Me Up's.

I will say that I would take rain over snow any day ... but these last couple of days of rain and grey skies make the day seem to lag. I'm ready for sunshine and the ability to head outside. For little sprouts of flowers popping up in my gardens, and to hear the birds in the morning (although today I did hear a couple chirps while I was laying in bed about to get up!).

But as I said - I would gladly take these grey, dull days over snow! I'm over snow and winter. O.V.E.R.

Anyways, I wanted to post a couple more inspirational pictures for Alexis' birthday party (which is sneaking up on us!) that I have collected.  I promise after her birthday I won't post more till next year! Stuff is just so darn cute!.

I LOVE the fabric garland - I want to do this!

and I love the look of these cakes ... we won't have cake, but are these not the most feminine cakes ever?

Fish Frenzy.

So I had mentioned already that we thought getting Alexis a fish for her birthday would be fun for her since she already loves helping to feed her furry sister so off we went last night in search for her fishy friend. We figured we she would be excited to see all the animals not to mention all the dogs popping in and out.

We also had time to check out some of the other animals that were NOT coming home with us! haha ...

Then it was back to the fish business ...

Since we were just using a regular old fish bowl, we were limited as to what kind of fish we could get. After talking to one of the girls there, we settled on a betta fish or commonly known as the Chinese fighting fish. So Alexis picked it out, and it just so happened she picked a boy (we know this because they had separated the males and females onto different shelves) and got some rocks, food, and water conditioner and away we went home.

I must admit, it's been awhile since I had a fish so all last night I was pretty sure he was dying, but so far so good.  I hope he's a hardy little thing! Anyways, please say hello to our newest member of the family ...

Apple.

Clearly Alexis picked the name.  I hope he's around for awhile cause Alexis sure does love him already!
