It's Coming ...

Matthew Mead's Holiday inspiration magazine of goodness! I've seen this posted on a couple sites now, and I have given it a looksie more than once but figured that it probably doesn't ship to Canada. However, then I found out it DOES! and so I too, quickly jumped on the bandwagon and ordered my copy! Can't wait to see all the beautiful displays inside for holiday decorating! Have you ordered your copy?

Playroom

It looks as though the playroom for Alexis is almost done. I completed painting the floors, and should have the stairs almost done tonight with the exception of some trim that I need to install. I can't believe the transformation from one to the other, but I think it looks so much better and is truly a great place for a little girl to go and play (and not to mention a place to put all of her things/toys!).

We went from this ... (gross shaggy carpet and all)

To this ...

I don't think I've ever mentioned it, but those are butterfly decals on the walls that I picked up at Homesense to add a little somethin' somethin'.  I'm going to load the room soon back with all her stuff. But we are really happy with how it turned out! Hopefully Alexis feels the same way!

Re-Visitng the Farm on a Fall Day ...

We decided that early Saturday morning we would go back to the farm. It's a "family friends" farm, I say this loosely as he really isn't my friend, he's my Uncle's but Alexis loves it there - so off we went.

First we stopped to see the llama's. I'm not really sure what you do with llama's, apparently these people sell them - but what are they good for? Their fur?

They don't look like they are the brightest and they clearly have no manners - right after this picture was taken this bad boy ran right up to the fence then spit on another llama. There was saliva flying everywhere, and that was our cue to leave. I have to add that Alexis loved them!

Anyhoo ... back to the farm. The good old farm. Where cows live, and ducks, and there is a fairly large vegetable garden that still has green peppers, cabbage, hot peppers, and squash growing abundantly. We were able to snag some of each to bring home! Yippee!

Alexis and Grandpa watching the cows eat. She loved every minute of it!

Then there was the ambiance of the old farm house and the buildings around it - which I personally love.

Heeeelllooo wood work!

Alexis just loves it out there, and we love taking her there.

Here she is chasing "Stewie" the dog ... all over the farm ... she really wanted to pet him!

A happy time was had by all!

Dumpster Diving?

Well it wasn't exactly a dumpster ... more like my neighbour across the way's boulevard ... but you get what I'm saying. Tomorrow is garbage day ... do you know what that means? It means people are getting rid of stuff that a) is actual garbage b) stuff that they no longer want/need etc. c) getting rid of perfectly good stuff that can still be used. Okay I know my sister will be cringing at this post (sorry Ash!) because she can't "appreciate" a good find whether it be at Goodwill or on the street ... but when I saw this just sitting there ... I thought Alexis would love that (and its free!!!). But back to what I found ... check it out!

So what do you think?
This is what Alexis thought of it ...

Happy girl! Oh and please forgive the apple face - most of the pictures I take of her are sporadically done!

Tea for Two?

Just a little tea juice party for two.

I'm just not sure the company is diggin' the tea party ...

Night Night.

Alexis' new favourite game since moving to the toddler room. It's called the night night game. It involves you laying down beside her, then she will motion for you to tap her on the back ... and that's about it. It's really cute - well I think it is. Here are a few photos that I took of Alexis playing the night night game with her grandpa.

Sugar High Baby.

The Way We Are

This post popped up last night from a blog that I check usually everyday, and can I just say that I am in love with her room. Love every thing about it - from the pictures on the wall to the stenciled (everyone should know by now that I love a good stenciled wall) wall that the television rests against (something that I wanted to replicate in my own living room.) Here is a picture that she posted, but you should check her blog out at The Way We Are

Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere ...

So before you watch this - the video is a little grainy - the only way I could upload it is if it was of lower quality. The other thing - that mark on Alexis' cheek was a flower she had painted on at school but had rubbed most of it off on the way home. Anyways enjoy!

Ta Da!

So a little late - as always ... but nonetheless, I finally got the hurricane vases to work out! That Gorilla Glue sure does work some magic! I let them sit all night upside down so the glue could really adhere both pieces together, and in the morning I was quite surprised at how strong it was. I've put together a couple pictures to show you with them lit. I haven't found any filler to put in them yet like I had hoped. I really want some acorns ... but apparently they are scarce around here. I could use some simple leaves and "wax" them. Who knows ... maybe I will cook up a little something this weekend to fill them up!

Cuteness ...

Some Goodies.

I picked up a few goodies on our shopping trip this past Saturday. First stop was at Hobby Lobby - which is basically like a Michael's/Homesense. I found these babies in the Fall Decor section for 50% off! What a deal! Of course they are hideous but nothing a little spray paint couldn't fix!

I love this little nut container! Of course he gets a coat of spray paint too!

Then I found this twiggy pumpkin at Target in the dollar section for $2.50. Love it.

So decor wise that's about all I got, but I loooovvveeee it all!

DIY - Attempt #2

I'm attempting the whole hurricane vase thing yet again tonight. Instead of the crappy dollar store "super" glue, I picked up some gorilla glue which people have suggested on the internet.

According to the directions you only have to let this sit for 30 seconds - ya right ... I will let this sit a bit longer then will report back to you. Here's hoping ...

All Done.

I'm waiving the white flag. I'm all done for the day. Holy epic meltdowns. I'm pretty sure I've just experience the worst tantrum that Alexis has ever done. There were tears, screams, boogers, "NO's", throwing of the sippy cup, and did I mention boogers cause there were lots! Whew.

Love.
