I Bake.

For Easter I found my inner Martha Stewart and whipped these babies up! I was quite proud of myself - and they were yummy to boot!

Twenty-Ten?

It seems silly to be posting this as it won't happen for some time but I've decided that next year I'm going to do something that I've always wanted to do. Somewhere that I've wanted to go for years and years, before Derek and I were together, when I was still a young'in. I decided since I will be twenty-ten next year, I feel like I need to see some sights. So I've decided (along with whoever else cares to join me) to take a much needed little vacay. Why you ask am I even thinking about this now? Well because my little vacay will cost a little, so I need to start thinking about saving some pennies in order to make this happen - and I WILL make this happen!

So where do you ask is this magical place that I need to see? Well ....

That's right. New York City.

I've always wanted to go. Since I was younger and started watching Sex and the City. I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of busy cities (like Toronto) but something about the hustle and bustle of New York excites me!

There are so many things I want to do when there! See the sights - museums, the Statue of Liberty, ground zero, Central Park, do the whole Sex and the City bus tour thing, eating at fancy restaurants, and of course I can't forget the SHOPPING (hence the reason I need to begin to start saving my pennies!) I figure turning twenty-ten deserves a weekend full of these things. A weekend with just the ladies. I'm excited to say the least.

Anyways, I wanted to share my exciting plans for my big day next year. This year my birthday will consist of spending time with my friends. Very casual and low key - which is fine by me.

So I'm off now to look at some more pictures of this magical place. I can't wait.

Reso Update.

So we are five days in to the resolutions for this year ... also known as "Get Fit This Year" around this house, and I must say ... we're doing pretty darn good! We went grocery shopping Monday and our cart was full of healthy goodness. Derek even said "I think this is the healthiest I've ever seen our cart!" (not that we eat crap all the time or anything lol - but when shopping with Derek I would find that somehow a bag or two of chips would make its way into the cart).

So we got our healthy grub going on ... picture lots of salads, veggie soup and at least 5 packs of those delicious styrofoams rice cakes! Mmmmmm lol. I'm drinking my water each day (although not as much as I would like so I need to step that up a notch!) but I'm really proud of what we are doing!

Each day we are using the Kinect and gettin' our "daily activity" - sometimes twice a day! Derek has started a new 9 week program with a new game and he's keepin' on track!

So that's what's been going on here ... I will probably post these updates now and then to let you know that we haven't fallen off the bandwagon ... and I say that because I'm determined not too!

Ta ta lovelies!

Resolutions.

It's that time again ... time to make the good old New Years resolutions. I don't really know if I've ever stuck to it, but I'm really hoping to make this year the year! So here we go ....

1. N.B.A - Hello my name is Allison and I'm a member of Nail Biters Anonymous. This year however, I need to kick this filthy habit - if not for me, for Alexis so she doesn't fall into this habit as well! I will ensure that I have nail polish on my nails each day to help curve the nail biting habit and will splurge on manicures from time to time to reward myself.

2. Eat Healthier - I think everyone can do this, but we need to bring some healthy eating to our house a little more. I'm not saying we can never eat chips again - but everything in moderation. I will be placing a picture of myself on the fridge to help me realize my goal of what I once looked like "pre-baby" body just for a little added motivation lol!

3. Drink More Water - I HATE water. I doesn't satisfy me at all. But I would like to ensure that with my daily Diet Coke I also get a couple glasses of water in there. It does a body good!

4. "Exercise" - I say this loosely because like most people I'm sure - I hate it. However if it's disguised as something fun than I'm all over that. Hopefully our new Kinect will help with this as we have been playing it together and it seems fun! Plus Derek and I get to challenge each other.

So these were just a few things that I think are reasonable to attain this year. Do make New Years resolutions and if so, what are yours?

Uh Oh.

"Dear Allison, Where are you, and why have you neglected me? Sincerely, Your Blog"

Ohhh my fellow readers, I'm so sorry! I know I have been slacking HUGE these last couple of weeks. I wish I had a good excuse, but really all I can say is ... I've got nothing going on lol. Sad isn't it. Well that and my daughter refuses to allow me to venture onto the computer ... she would rather me play with her (crazy eh? lol). So my days are filled with play grocery shopping, reading the same books over and over, painting teeny tiny toe nails with glittery nail polish, and just cuddling on the couch.

Since getting all the Christmas stuff up and done with, we don't have many other projects on the go here. Well I have started to paint all the doors in the house (since we've replaced them all since moving in) and believe me ... it's not so fun, and I'm sure would not be interesting to read or look at on here.  I will figure out something though. The winter storms we've been getting have caused me to lock myself and hibernate inside and not venture out much - unless needed like tonight ... Alexis needed diapers ... well I said to my mom it was that or tomorrow I would have to start using towels :)

Anyways, I'm sorry, I had no idea :) but hopefully (fingers crossed) we get some more action on here!

Until then ... here are some cute pictures (if I do say some myself) of my daughter who feel asleep the other night in the middle of the living room. Her father was watching hockey and I was catching up on my blogs - not my own obviously! haha.
