You're NOT Welcome.

Dear Mr.Groundhog; you ARE not welcome in my backyard. You are not allowed to eat or munch on my new bleeding heart plant, and I do not enjoy you. Please LEAVE!

Consider this your eviction notice!

I Bake.

For Easter I found my inner Martha Stewart and whipped these babies up! I was quite proud of myself - and they were yummy to boot!

Appropriate?

I'm not sure if this is "appropriate blogging material" but as I was sorting and organizing all the loot Alexis received from her birthday and opened one of the "big girl" items she got from her cousin Connor (who's really her 2nd cousin? I think? ugh whatever you get the point) I immediately said out loud "these are the cutest things ever!"

Seriously can little girl "delicate's" get any cuter? and look how teeny tiny they are!

You're probably wondering how many pictures one person can take of underwear right?

Alright, I'm done now lol.

Smart Cookie.

So ... I'm not saying my kid is a genius, or gifted ... but she IS smart. Yesterday morning while I was cleaning up Alexis' 678,840 toy mess of the morning I could hear her say "Mama stuck ... Mama stuck!" I knew she was in the kitchen but I didn't know what she could have gotten into ... until I walked in there and saw this ...

That's right. My daughter figured out that if she put her potty in front of her highchair she could climb up into her highchair herself. I know what you're thinking - her falling or the highchair tipping over and believe me I thought that too ... but I was simply amazed at the fact that she figured this all out on her own. Oh and not just that - she figured out that she would have to move her highchair a little so I wouldn't be able to see her climbing up there while cleaning up her toys which is why her highchair is in the middle of the kitchen.

Needless to say we had a little talk about this ....

We've Got A Situation.

No I'm not quoting Mike from Jersey Shore tonight, but I really do have a blog related situation. You see I had no idea that on blogger you are only given so much "space". So I was quite surprised to find that when I was uploading some cute little pictures that a big old pop up came up saying how I was out of space and if I wanted more I was going to have to buy some. Um what?

So I've realized its because of two years worth of pictures uploaded at regular size. Not the brightness on my part I admit. So I don't know if I'm suppose to start a new blog ... or the only was I see is to go back and change over all my pictures to smaller sizes and then re-upload them all? Geez.

If anyone has come across this problem and has suggestions I am completely all ears! I will keep you all posted!

Atttttttt Laaaaasssstttttt ....

My love has come along .... Isn't that how the song goes? Please meet Dyson. She's new here. Since our old crappy vacuum finally waved the old white flag and called her quits, I finally decided to invest in a better vacuum. We did our research and felt that for what we were looking for Dyson would be the way to go. We talked to some people, read reviews and checked out some sites. It had mixed reviews (as did all the other ones we looked at) but we felt that it would be a good investment, and believe me it IS an investment. These vacuums aren't cheap and we knew that, but we figured we could invest in another cheap $200 one that will eventually break down because I have a vacuuming problem and compulsion due to use or we could invest a little money in one and have it for awhile. So the search began and I knew the boxing day flyer's would bring me joy. We searched through tons of flyer's to check out each and every store that sold them to find out how much we could save. Finally found a couple stores but to our luck they had none in stock. We finally ended up at Sears and they were happy (well I don't know if they were happy) to price match them for us. I say them too because my parents took the plunge with us and bought one too. So here she is. Isn't she a beauty. I haven't used her yet, but I because this sort of thing excites me I will probably post pictures of before and after. Of course if this whole vacuuming thing isn't your thing just skip on over them :)

So without further adieu ... here she is ...

and after a qucik swipe around our living room with her, proved to us just how powerful she really is ...

No Betty Crocker But ...

I used a recipe that my mom has had and made us since I don't know when. It's always been a favourite of mine in the winter, and last night I made a delish dinner for my family. Yummy beef stew. I will wait for the applause. Thank you.

Uh Oh.

"Dear Allison, Where are you, and why have you neglected me? Sincerely, Your Blog"

Ohhh my fellow readers, I'm so sorry! I know I have been slacking HUGE these last couple of weeks. I wish I had a good excuse, but really all I can say is ... I've got nothing going on lol. Sad isn't it. Well that and my daughter refuses to allow me to venture onto the computer ... she would rather me play with her (crazy eh? lol). So my days are filled with play grocery shopping, reading the same books over and over, painting teeny tiny toe nails with glittery nail polish, and just cuddling on the couch.

Since getting all the Christmas stuff up and done with, we don't have many other projects on the go here. Well I have started to paint all the doors in the house (since we've replaced them all since moving in) and believe me ... it's not so fun, and I'm sure would not be interesting to read or look at on here.  I will figure out something though. The winter storms we've been getting have caused me to lock myself and hibernate inside and not venture out much - unless needed like tonight ... Alexis needed diapers ... well I said to my mom it was that or tomorrow I would have to start using towels :)

Anyways, I'm sorry, I had no idea :) but hopefully (fingers crossed) we get some more action on here!

Until then ... here are some cute pictures (if I do say some myself) of my daughter who feel asleep the other night in the middle of the living room. Her father was watching hockey and I was catching up on my blogs - not my own obviously! haha.

For the Time Being.

We have Derek's birthday party this weekend so naturally we have people coming over to help us celebrate. Since I haven't been able to select the pictures yet that I want to put in the picture frames in the living room, I knew I needed to come up with a quick solution. In comes - wallpaper.

I've had these wallpaper samples in my basement on my "decorating" shelf and figured its a good time to use them.

I have to admit, I kind of like it! At least it's a solution for now and so that I don't have to answer the question .... "so what pictures are going in there?" or "where are your pictures?"

R.I.P

Good-bye paper whites. You were beautiful to look at, but man you smelled bad and got worse each day. So sorry, but I don't want my kitchen to smell like cat urine anymore. Farewell and adieu.

Very Excited!

I WON! I actually WON something on a blog giveaway. You have to understand that I never win anything! No lotto ticket wins, draws ... I'm just not a lucky person, but today I went to check my e-mails and found this:

Congratulations on winning our giveaway hosted by Centsational Girl! If you just let me know your full name, address and stencil choice (up to $50), we can ship out your prize in the next day or two!

I am soooo excited! So sure enough I go on over to their website and which one did I pick out? Well of course the Casablanca Allover Stencil - the one I had been looking at awhile ago but thought that perhaps I could re-create the look myself. Here's what it looks like:

I can't wait to get it in the mail and use it!

Stinky.

I wanted to show you an updated picture of our white paper flowers.  Here they are ...

The only problem I've found with these babies .... is they stink! No sweet smell from them ... I can't even describe it. But I will say, that the other day I thought I had left a dirty diaper somewhere and couldn't find it - only to realize that it was the flowers! So although they are beautiful and super easy to grow ... they stink. I'm not sure if there are paper whites that don't smell like this, I will have to research!

Growing Growing.

Looks like I may have a green thumb after all. I've so far (knock on wood) been able to keep these suckers alive and flourishing. Here's hoping they can grow more!

Easy Peazy Blooms ...

Or so I hope to have. On a couple of blogs I saw a neat little trick in growing some oh so lovely flowers called Paper Whites or there more technical plant name "Narcissus". I found these bulbs at Canadian Tire for $4.99.

So what you have to do is fill a glass container (I had this one downstairs with all of my other glass containers) and get some river rocks ... I bought these at Walmart ages ago, and pretty much just keep them around for whatever I may need them for.

Make a base with the rocks for the bulbs to sit on. Then place all the bulbs in and secure them with a couple smaller rocks.

Fill the container up with water until the bottom of the bulbs are submerged. You don't want to drown the bulbs but make sure that you check the water line every couple of days so that the bulbs don't dry out.

Then just stick them somewhere where they will get some light, and hopefully, fingers crossed they will grow long and lovely! Apparently they are suppose to smell nice too. Well guess we will see if my black-thumb can keep these suckers alive! I will let you know!
