Again, I am at home with my sick baby girl. I was called at work today to come and get Alexis. She had a fever of 101.4. Thank goodness I was able to find a supply and was able to be on my way to pick her up. I just don't know what's going on with her. This past weekend was brutal with her, as Friday and Saturday night she woke up at 2:30 am. This may have been find a couple years ago, but now with Alexis, we find ourselves ready for bed most nights at 10 or 10:30 ... sad? yes .. this is the life of new parents haha.
So I'm sitting at home with Alexis, and she seems to have spurts of energy followed by a complete and utter melt down shortly after. Thankfully we also scored a doctors appointment for her tonight, so hopefully the doctor can sort this out. She's already on medication for a supposed ear infection, so who knows what she's got now. Poor girl, I feel bad, because she can't tell us what hurts or what's wrong ... and even though I know we are doing the best we can, I still feel bad and helpless when I just sit and watch her cry because she doesn't know what she wants or needs.
So because I'm home, when the little darling falls asleep I will be uploading some pictures of the next room that I was prepared to put up here since it's pretty much done. So that will be up this afternoon.
Ciao!

Welcome Home!
I decided that it was time to put up some house pictures, since I keep saying that I'm going to and all. I am also taking advantage of a very tired little girl, who went to bed early, which allowed me to get these on here!
Anyways enjoy the tour!
I LOVE this clearance mirror I found at Winners and spray painted black. LOOOVVEE!
Nevermind the toys I was suppose to move for the shot lol
A Sneak Peak at the Upstairs Hallway and Moving on to the kitchen ...
And just because ... a picture of my unorganized (gasp) pantry ... please note the last couple of pictures are not fully painted yet ... still working on it :)
and again because she's cute and lives here too ... noodle girl ...
So welcome to our house. I thought I would start the tour on our first floor (ie. kitchen and living room). I thought it would be neat to split the floors up and do each floor on a different post. So our kitchen and living room is a main room that obviously we spend a lot of time in. When Alexis is up, they are the only rooms we are in (for now until Derek put's his "electronic junk" away downstairs. We eat here, play with Alexis here, and watch tv here .... and that's about it. We painted the living room and the kitchen before we moved in, and I left the sheers up because it would cost too much to replace them right now (its A LOT of window) and they started to grow on me ... so for now they stay.
Anyways enjoy the tour!

Random
So ... Alexis is still sleeping and I have spent my time checking out all my favourite blogs with my tea in hand of course! If you get a chance check some of these out! They are mostly designing blogs (so if its not your thing - you will want to skip this) but I love seeing good old DIY projects that other people do that help inspire me for my own home.
Young House Love - Cute couple who tackle their own older home.

The Old Painted Cottage - A couple who have transformed their house into a cute little "cottage"
http://theoldpaintedcottage.blogspot.com/
The Lettered Cottage - LOVE this couple! Young DIY'ers that blog, do videos and are hilarious! There place is a.m.a.z.i.n.g as well!
http://www.theletteredcottage.net/
Thrifty Decor Chick - A woman who I find funny while she tackles her home decor.
http://www.theletteredcottage.net/
Life in the Fun Lane - A Canadian girl from out West who refurbishes furniture into gorgeous new pieces!

As I said these are mostly design blogs - but I love them. It's my "thing" and I will never get tired of looking at them or finding new ones.

Sick ....
I took my first "sick day" today off work, so that Alexis could rest at home. Mind you she seems better than she did two days ago, she still has an awful green booger nose (sorry for the TMI). I feel bad because I know there really isn't anything I can do for her, but let the cold run its course. I did try to make her more comfortable by trying to get her to have some infant Motrin. She spit it out all over me right away. Now she is napping, poor thing has been up since 5:30am. I'm sure this is just the beginning of her illnesses as she slowly builds her immune system ... anyways, just a little update.
On another note, since I'm home I'm going to try and take some pictures today of the house (if I can get some rooms cleaned!). Tomorrow is the closing date on the other house. I'm sad, but it's funny cause I feel like our new house is already our home. It doesn't feel weird to be here, or not "ours" yet. Derek and I were discussing this last night, about how long it took the other house to really feel like our home, and in a matter of a few weeks, this new house has become our little home already. Maybe its because of the changes we made to it ... or because of all the extra room ... but whatever it is, we are both happy with our choice. So yes I am going to attempt to get some more updated pictures since I have been busy trying to pull rooms together. Wish me luck haha!

Few Update House Pictures
We are still busy around the house ... fixing this and that. We purchased a lot of stuff when we first moved in that thankfully was on sale at places like Rona and Home Depot. Like new doors, new door knobs ... that kind of stuff ... so every weekend we find something that needs to be finished. Not to mention that we are closing on the other house (*sniff) in less than 2 weeks. The other buyers had their final walk-through on Saturday. We were able to move everything that we had left there (the small dinky things that you don't really need for everyday life, but hold on to ... for whatever reasons. Anyways, we went back for that stuff and to clean the place up. It feels good to get it all done. So as I said, I'm busy here decorating and putting things away and setting up rooms, so once they are done I will have better pictures. For now, here are a few of a couple of rooms upstairs that were finished when the flooring and new baseboards were done. Love my hardwood floor .... hate dust bunnies ....
