Oh Micheal

Here are some pictures taken from the Michael Buble (swooon) concert that my sister and myself attended this past Monday night. I love his music and he isn't too bad to look at either eh?

The show was amazing! Intimate, and of course Michael was hilarious! This was my third time seeing him, and if he comes again, I will most likely will go again!

Here are some pictures from the concert - although they aren't the best partly due to my camera's lack of zoom, the lighting, and it was quite foggy in there. But anyways, enjoy the pictures!

School Time

This is the face of a little girl who loves school ...

Don't let the scowl fool you. This is a typical morning face for Alexis. Then once you announce its "time to go to school" she bolts for the door.

This morning was no different, and a quick kiss for mom and away she goes with Daddy ...

Pay no attention to the soother ... its a comfort thing these days since she's been teething with molars.

And away she goes ...

5 Things that Make You Happy ...

I recently saw a blog post on one of my favourite blogs Young House Love about 5 things that make them happy that are easy upgrades that you can do or use around the house. You can read what they said here Young House Love .  I thought it would be interesting to do as well, and I urge my other fellow bloggers to do the same!

So here we go ...

5 Things That Make Me Happy ...

1. Pictures - I love pictures of my family, friends and things I love to be displayed throughout our house.  It reminds me of good times together, and what really matters in life.

2. Glass Jars - Love these ... love that you can see what's in them, and they are clean and crisp. One of my favourite purchases of all times.

3. A Nice Smelling Candle - I'm a sucker for candles with sweet/strong scents. My favourites are anything vanilla, lilac, or spicy apple. I can't resist! I recently bought some from Bath and Body Works, and while I love the sweet smell from them, I find they burn really fast! Anyways ... love candles!

4. Natural Objects - They are beautiful, enough said.

5. Green and Leafy - I love the house to be full of flowers, however I have a hard time keeping things alive. Scattered throughout the house I do have an assortment of fake foliage, and some real.  This arrangement I've been able to keep going for 16 months now! I think that's a record! I received it the day Alexis was born from Derek's brother and girlfriend.  I love it!

"Say hello to my little friend!" ...

Isn't he cute?? Picked up this awesome white ceramic owl statue at Homesense yesterday.  Yes, Homesense has their Fall items out already! I tend to go a little nuts around Fall because its one of my favourite seasons, and I love decorating for it, inside the house and out!  The great thing about this guy, is that he can be left up all season pretty much, and then around Fall or Halloween you can stick a tea light in him and he will set off a pretty glow.

I've noticed that lately a lot of stores are selling ceramic animal statues ... check these ones out from Z Gallerie ...

Crazy eh? Anyways these ones are faaaaaarrr more expensive ...

I also managed to pick up these cork votive holders on clearance for 60% off at Fabricland of all places!  I love the way they look during the day ...

and at night they let off an amazing pattern from the cork!

Anyways, that's some new things that I got this weekend. I forgot to mention in the previous Bayfield post how I'm still kicking myself! They had a rummage sale near where we parked our car and I saw 3 huge, old, blue vintage mason jars that I really wanted! Needless to say I didn't get them cause Derek was waiting ... and I'm still kicking myself ...

Pure.Beautiful.Lovely.

`We started this long weekend with a great trip up to Bayfield. I've never been, and was in awe of how cute it is! Friends of ours recently bought an amazing trailer - and we were excited when they asked us to join them up there for the night. We of course jumped at this and even got a sitter for the little wee one (Thanks Ash and Mom!).

So the drive up there started like this ....

and we saw a lot of this ....

and this ...

then we started to get close ...

and finally ... we have arrived!

The night of course was fun ... always is ... and lets just say men + beer + golf cart = late night wheelies in the yard.  This photo of course was taken before the wheelies occurred ...

I was excited the next morning to go into town - as I've heard Bayfield is really nice. So off we went ... and it sure didn't disappoint! I loved all the little buildings, the flowers, the shops. It was awesome!

We toured around a bit, then headed down to the beach to check it out.  It disappoint either. It was so quite and the water was so calm. We sort of just stood there and took it all in. There was no hussle and bussle of traffic, just seagulls ... the sound of a boat motor, and small children playing in the water.  It was so nice!

The hike back up to the cars though was a rough one!

Geez ... you can definitely tell if you're out of shape from this climb! Poor Robyn was trooper though! Almost 8 months preggers (I think ...) and givin' it up there like a champ!

I was sad to go back home ... I honestly could have stayed up there for a week ... just reading a book, taking Lexi to the kids playground ... scootin' around on the golf cart ... sitting at the beach .... ahhhhh it would be so nice! But these are all things I know we can do in time, since Ryan and Robyn own the place there . So instead of staying there, we came home to see our little one ... cause I miss her when she isn't with us.

All in all a great way to start the long weekend off, and if you've never been to Bayfield I highly recommend visiting it! I loved every minute of it!
