Priceless ...

So apparently I'm not the only one enjoying the heat from the heating pad. Although I'm using for my sore back, and well Noelle, she's using it to warm herself. And its not like our house is cold or anything ... she just loves the heat.

I went to the kitchen and came back and this is what I found ...

37 Week Doctor's Appointment

Well after sitting in an uncomfortable chair for what seemed like eternity, but really was an hour and a half, I finally got in to see the doctor for literally 5 mins. Everything is checking out fine. Baby is weighing and measuring right on target, and her heartbeat was 150, which is perfect. Next week they are going to start checking to see if I am dilated at all and all that good stuff I guess. I have had really bad back pains on my left side, and the doctor said it was my sciatic nerve, which has now forced me to "waddle" around in pain. Doctor said that nothing can really be done about it but:

1. Put a heating pad on the area of discomfort (which I'm already doing)
2. Have Derek massage it (Yea ... like that is going to happen)
3. Lay on the ground and try to stretch the area out by placing leg over leg and turning on my side (I'm not sure if she got a good look at the tummy, but seriously ... I can't see myself laying on the ground trying to do this maneuver haha)
4. Take a Tylenol (which I've done, and does nothing)

So .... basically I will be in pain, with the new "waddle" until baby decides to join us (which I hope is soon!)

I will take a 37 week picture today at some point, and post it on here for everyone to see, and will post it on here at some point today/tonight.

I'm Full-Term Today! 37 Weeks!

It's hard to believe, but I am what they call "full-term" as of today (this day being my 37th week), and to top it all off, it is my first official day of vacation/mat. leave! It feels so good to be done as these last 3 days have really been a pain! My back is still sore (either I have a pinched nerve or baby is laying on a nerve - I'm going to ask tomorrow at my OB appointment what's going on) so it really hurts to move around. So I'm thankful to be at home now, and able to rest!

Not sure what I am going to do with my days until our little one arrives (I mostly plan on relaxing and getting as much sleep as I can now!) but I'm sure I will find something to stay content! Anyways, as I did with my 36th week posting, here is some information about what's going on with baby today!

37 Weeks Along

Your baby is officially baked this week! That means you could literally give birth at any given moment. A terrifying, exciting and overwhelming concept, all rolled into one. You made it! Your baby is considered full term at the end of this week. So kick your swollen feet up and swig back a glass of lemonade. All that hard work has finally paid off!

Huge news this week: You're carrying a full-term baby! If you were to go into labor today, all systems would be a go. Woohoo! Even though you can't wait for the little bambino to quite literally rear his head, keep in mind that your bun benefits from every day in the oven. Baby's growth slows down dramatically this week, which is great news for your birth canal.

At this point babies vary in size, but the average length is between 19 and 20 inches and most babies weigh approximately 6 pounds. About the size of an average large mouth bass!

Thank You!

Just wanted to thank my mom who has been spending time making receiving blankets. I know you don't really like to sew mom, but they look so cute and are so soft! Thanks again!

I love the fabric and the one with the little golf clubs! (very appropriate for our child, seeing as I'm sure once she's able to walk she will be introduced to a golf club by Derek and my dad! haha!)

Organization is a Must!

I've been in what they call the "nesting" stage lately, and one thing that I knew I wanted done in the baby's room was to have some great totes and really organize all of her clothes and things. So with Derek's help (actually he was volunteered ) we bought some great closet shelves and totes. I think her closet really looks good, and its nice and organized for when she arrives! It makes me happy to say the least.

Anyways, here are some pictures of the new shelves/totes ... this may not be interesting to some, but it excites me!

36 weeks 1 Day Pregnant

Today I am 36 weeks and 1 day, and I must admit, I'm getting a little uncomfortable! The back aches, hip pain, and the newly acquired "waddle" that I am now sporting, is really taking its toll on me. I am really trying not to be a whiner ... with that said ... here is what's going on with the baby this week!

36 Weeks Pregnant:

Your baby continues to put on weight at about ½ pound each week. This layer of fat will help your baby regulate his body temperature after leaving your climate-controlled womb. Even in the womb, your baby can listen, feel, touch and see. The only thing separating him from living in the outside world is a little thing called the birth canal.

Your baby has definite patterns of sleep and wakefulness—opening his eyes while awake and closing them while sleeping. Your baby will become alert and turn his head toward light and sound just as a newborn would—except when you put on that Celine Dion CD. Then the baby puts his hands up, turns away and gurgles, "Oh no you didn't!" (hahaha Ashley!)

Your baby is now around 18½ inches long and nearly 6 pounds—just about as big as a breadbox!

Now that you're seriously down to the wire (and we mean seriously), you're probably in nesting overdrive. Quit scrubbing the bathroom tile with a toothbrush for a minute and just relax!
