We Move On ...
So I can finally say it without feeling like I'm going to jinx it - but ... we're MOVING! I never thought we'd move for awhile. The actual moving stresses me out just thinking about it, the actual getting the house ready, having strangers go through it stressed me out even more! But I can breath and relax because its all over with. After two days on the "market" our house was snatched up by what I'm told is another young couple with a small toddler and another one on the way (however I think that small bundle has already showed up as I was told the woman went into labour during the home inspection - kudos for her for moving with a toddler and a newborn!). It was a stressful time for me - for one I don't do well with change and two, I don't like people who I don't know checking out my place. Not to mention the fact that we had to keep the place somewhat presentable and with a crazy 11 month old, its hard. There's crumbs, dog hair, and dust ... but its done. So it took a week to finalize everything but they got our house and we found a house that we are completely excited for! For its size, and for all the little things we have planned and envisioned for it! Its a nice house with LOTS of space, and needs a little TLC, but with some new flooring and paint, I think it will start too look totally different. I have taken some pictures (not very good ones to say the least) during the home inspection. I was more worried about what the inspector would find! So I will add those pictures sometime. I know majority of my posts are about Alexis - but this blog is also about us, and our life as a family. It's about life as we (Derek, Alexis and I) know it. Derek and I didn't buy this house for us. We bought it for Alexis and whoever else joins us down the road. It's for our family, and we knew that we could never stay in our lovely little semi - which I adore and feel at home in. But for my family and children I will do anything. So we're moving on up, and from time to time I'm sure I will blog about what's going on in the house and add some pictures here and there.

Excuse My Tardiness ...
Ohhhh where do I begin. I'm sooo sorry for my lack of posts here, I actually do have a good excuse though! We may be moving. And I say may like this because it isn't final yet, and I do not want to jinx it! By Friday we will know for sure, so I will then will post pictures and stuff if everything works out. But for now ... that's all your getting! haha.
Ohhh what a month as well. Our little lady is growing day by day, and making us laugh all the time! Really I think sometimes, she's going to be the class clown. Alexis has this funny of way making everyone - no matter how they are feeling or what's going on - laugh, which is really entertaining. What can I say ... Alexis has 1000 faces lol. Seriously. If you have been the fortunate one to enjoy Alexis' "stink eye" you know what I'm talking about. It's her new thing. Stink eye comes out more at night when she's starting to get tired and her co-ordination goes out the door, but we love it. I'm not sure if she learned this from watching people or she started to do it one day because Derek was making that face (cause we all know I would never make such a face! lol) but its hilarious. We are also in full-mode walking. There is no crawling anymore. And I think she has about 100 different speeds, because when she see's that dog dish down, I'm telling ya, she books it to it at lightening speed! But really, she's doing great. Less than a month till I go back to work and Alexis goes to daycare, but I'm really excited (honestly) and I think daycare will be really good for her, so she can socialize with someone other than "mommy" all day. We are going to begin her visits to the room soon, and if I can I'm going to get some video and pictures of her (for safety of the other children, obviously I can't put pictures of them up on here). So I will have her 10 month stats up soon, as soon as this whole moving thing is sorted out! Thanks for being patient though!!

All Things Birthday
So as much as I don't want it to come because I love being home with Alexis, I am slowly starting to prepare for her birthday. As I mentioned (I believe) earlier we have a whole "cupcake" theme going on. Derek and I watched her tonight however as she harassed the poor dog and cuddled with her Coco (stuffed dog she adores), we should have picked a dog theme, but there's always next year. Anyways ... so I've been really addicted to design blogs and party blogs these days, can't quite get enough of them. I've started to make some banners, and decorations - with the help of Martha Stewart.com of course. The amount of stuff I have gathered from here and there is quite considerable, and I've really tried to be ... frugal? But so far I'm very please with what I have, and what I have made. I think it will be a great party. She only turns one once ... and she is our first ... better do it up in style!
In Awe.
So I just spent about an hour reading a blog I happen to stumble upon. Its a mom, who's married and has 4 children. The only thing is, that this mom was severely burned about a year ago in a plane crash with her husband. He too was burned but not as much as her. I think she said 83% of her body. She's been on the Today Show, and Oprah. I found her to be so inspirational, as she describes her journey to recovery. Her blog is quite moving as well as she talks about her daily struggles now compared to her earlier posts. I was just in awe of her. Definitely worth reading.
Check her out at http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/
That is all ... now back to reading.

Playdate
Here are some pictures of Alexis' play date with Maddy and Wesley. She had a great time, although I wouldn't really say they "played" together - more like took the toys from each other. Alexis was very curious with both of them. At one point she had Maddy by the face, and was very eager to poke Wesley in the eye. All in all a good day! Please note as well, that yes I do put socks on my child, but for whatever reason, she ALWAYS takes them off. She really dislikes them ... guess its the only thing she can "control".
In Times Of Need ...
A Mother's Prayer
Lord, give me patience
when wee hands
tug at me with their
small demands.
Give me gentle and smiling eyes;
Keep my lips from hasty replies.
Let not weariness, confusion,
or noise.
or noise.
Obscure my vision of life's
fleeting joys.
So, when in years to come,
my house is still-
my house is still-
No bitter memories its rooms
may fill.
may fill.
Amen.

Less Than 2 Months!
With less than 2 months to go until I head back to work, and Lexi heads to school (eeekkk!), I'm in FULL birthday party planning mode for both of us. In my down time when Lexi is sleeping and I'm not doing or cleaning something around the house, I'm checking out children's party blogs, Martha Stewart's website and of course, Etsy.

So "we" (even though it was pretty much me, as Derek doesn't really care when it comes to this stuff - what guy does?) decided on a cupcake theme. I'm really excited for it! I've got some great ideas for decor and whatnot for around the house, that I can myself make - thanks to Martha's website and a little craftiness from me. No pictures yet, but once I do have more stuff together I will post some.
I'm having a joint birthday party with my friend Tim since our birthday's are so close as well. Within our group of friends we have decided this year to try and do themes as well - if possible, just to spice things up lol. Tim and I decided on a Hawaiian theme. Flip flops, lei's, grass skirts, coconut bras (oh yea!) and tacky Hawaiian shirts all the way! Should be fun!
Anyways, that's just a little update. I haven't posted much on here in awhile, but with stuff going on and with Alexis now walking, I don't get much time to update this thing. But I promise I will do better!
