Swim Little Fish ... Swim.

This past Saturday was Alexis' first swimming lesson. I was a little hesitant because Alexis has never been in a public pool (she has been in a neighbours pool and did relatively well) but that was last summer, so we weren't sure how she would take to it.


Apparently Alexis is very adaptable! I could tell she was a little nervous while I held her before the lesson began, but she kept saying that she wanted to go in - and it probably helped seeing all the other young children there too.  The instructor said we should all ask our children if they wanted to go in before the lesson started and so I did and she said "yup" lol. So off we went. The lesson went well! Although Alexis didn't enjoy trying to "swim" on her back (the instructor said not many children do but it's important to get them use to it) she did allow me to put her partially on her back and I distracted her by getting her to wave to her dad and grandparents. She loved playing with the ball during the time we had for toys, and really enjoyed the whole noodle experience. All in all it was a good first lesson. When we were done I asked her if she wanted to come back next week and she said "yup" so we will be going!
