This morning, Derek and I decided we would take a drive down to Port Stanley, and let Alexis explore the sand and water. I was able to capture some pictures, although Alexis was all that impressed with the water. In her defense it was freakin' frackin freezing! But nonetheless we went for a little drive, saw the sand and water, ate at the beach, then drove home. A nice little holiday outing. I will post pictures soon from the day.
I was also able to get some things done around the house today, surprisingly. I've started to paint the main bathroom - yes the one with the ugly mint coloured green. I told one of my friends today that I started to paint it last night, and she thought I had already painted it - that nasty green colour! I quickly corrected her and told her that I would NEVER use that colour anywhere in my house lol. So I started to edge in there. It is definitely going to need a couple coats. But I'm excited with the progress!
While that was drying I filled in some nail holes in our trim in the living room - something that has needed to be done since we moved in and I have just never got around to doing it! I also painted one of the risers on the stairs downstairs to see what it would look like. Remember this is what I was working with.
Tomorrow I have some time to myself and the house so I plan on getting some more stuff done - that is if I can get up and get at it. These last couple weeks Derek and I have been up at 5am with Alexis. It seems as though Alexis' internal clock has her getting up between 5am and 6am most mornings. So by her bedtime I'm usually done, but I have to watch my shows, and then I get thinking about all the projects around the house that need to be either started or finished .... so unless I treat myself tomorrow to some "me" time back in bed after she's gone, I will be gettin' at those projects. Wish me luck!
